Metso has secured what it says is its largest analyser Life Cycle Services (LCS) agreement to date with a major copper producer in South America.
The five-year agreement represents an important milestone in the development of Metso’s analyser services offering and demonstrates growing interest in outcome-based business models within the mining industry, according to the company. The agreement is valued at over €40 million ($46 million) over the five years.
Manuel Sanchez, Manager, Business Field Service, Market Area South America, said: “The agreement further strengthens Metso’s position in analyser solutions and services for mining customers in South America. Delivery will be supported by Metso’s regional analyser and service experts together with global technology teams.”
The agreement combines on-stream analyser technology, engineering expertise and long-term operational support under a single commercial framework. The scope includes analyser modernisation, new analyser and sampling systems, technical services, spare parts, digital support, and operation and maintenance services over a five-year period. Elemental and particle size on-stream analysers have a significant impact on process performance as they enable process control and optimisation with accurate, reliable and fast measurements from process streams.
